Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly is a Twin Cities organization seeking to combat isolation and loneliness among elderly in the community. The organization has done a phenomenal job of recruiting volunteers - so much so in fact, that they have twice as many volunteers as elders involved in their programs. My team's goal was to increase the number of elders served by Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly and in turn, help reduce loneliness and isolation among our elders.

Implementation Roadmap created to sustain and measure progress.

A connection is made...

As seen above, I spent time working with a team to develop a strategy map including multiple touchpoints for the project. It was a huge turning point when we realized that we should focus on a grassroots, from-the-ground-up design strategy to inform our design, incorporating the rose logo Little Brothers already had in place. The grassroots campaign would tie in the neighborhood focus and not put additional strain on LBFE's limited resources. We each created multiple prototypes, and my low-fidelity flier wound up being the one I developed into a more high-fidelity version. The completed flier was then used for our video and presented to LBFE staff along with other sustainable options for increasing awareness of the organization, while not creating additional work for the staff. This is attained by leveraging the time and energy of existing volunteers to spread the word of LBFE to elders, thereby increasing the number of elderly served and further working toward eradication of elder isolation and loneliness.
